Problem Statement
The biggest challenge was building trust in neighborhood-level data. Information such as rent trends, living costs, population demographics, and lifestyle indicators was scattered across government portals, census datasets, and third-party APIs—each with different formats, update cycles, and reliability levels. Raw data alone was often inconsistent, outdated, or difficult for users to interpret, making it unsuitable for direct presentation. Another challenge was transforming static data into experiential insights—helping users understand not just numbers, but what day-to-day life in a neighborhood actually feels like.
Solutions
Propelius integrated data from multiple government, census, and third-party sources and built a unified data pipeline to normalize, validate, and refresh neighborhood metrics. We introduced custom calculations to derive meaningful indicators such as estimated monthly living costs, affordability ranges, and lifestyle compatibility scores. To make insights intuitive, we layered this data into interactive maps, visual comparisons, and 30-day living simulations, allowing users to explore neighborhoods in a practical, real-life context rather than raw statistics. This transformed complex datasets into clear, confidence-driven decision tools.
